Shah Rukh Khan, the Badshah of Bollywood, has enchanted the globe with his charisma and charisma. People all over the world go weak on their knees whenever the actor raises his arms wide. Shah Rukh Khan has been in Bollywood for nearly two and a half decades and will always be irreplaceable in our hearts.
With blockbuster movies like Chennai Express, Happy New Year, Dilwale, Raees, Ra. One, Don 2, Jab Tak Hai Jaan, Fan, and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, and many others; it is understandable therefore to find his teeming fans anxious about no new releases for the past 5 years.
Red Chillies Entertainment sent an exciting tweet 5 years ago today, on August 30, 2016, at 8:34 PM IST, that was appreciated by fans and industry alike. It was confirmed that Shah Rukh Khan's next film with filmmaker Aanand L Rai, eventually titled Zero, will be released. This tweet also revealed the film's release date, which is December 21, 2018. “This one is extremely special to all of us,” Shah Rukh responded to the tweet. Furthermore, the title is far too sweet. “Be patient.”
Zero was released on December 21, 2018, as promised. It starred Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma and told the story of a naughty midget who traveled from Uttar Pradesh to space through Mumbai and NASA. Due to SRK's appearance and the outstanding VFX, this film generated a lot of buzz. However, the film's plot was a disaster. The first act was adequate yet unsatisfactory. However, word of mouth was mixed, and the picture was unable to break the Rs. 100 crore barrier. This was bad news for a film that was most likely made for more than Rs. 200 crores.
Shah Rukh Khan was devastated by the Zero disaster and delved into self-reflection. He also took his time choosing his next movie. He reportedly turned down around 20 scripts, many of which had backing from well-known filmmakers and producers. In October of this year, reports surfaced that the superstar was in talks with Atlee, a well-known South director, for his upcoming masala blockbuster. Bollywood Hungama was among the first to report on this amazing development. Then, a few days later, news broke that he had signed a project with Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK, dubbed Raj-DK. In interviews, the directing duo confirmed it. Then came word that SRK would be collaborating with the blockbuster filmmaker, Rajkumar Hirani on his next movie.
Last year, Shah Rukh fans were given a pleasant surprise when it was reported that the actor would star in and play Pathan, a big-budget action film produced by Aditya Chopra's Yash Raj Films (YRF) and directed by Siddharth Anand, who also directed War (2019). Deepika Padukone and John Abraham co-starred with SRK in this flick. Pathan is a film set in YRF's spy world, and the character of Tiger (played by Salman Khan) will make a cameo appearance in this behemoth, adding to the excitement. SRK began filming for this project in November 2020. His long-haired appearance was released, causing a stir on the internet.
As can be seen, Shah Rukh Khan is apparently working on three films (Raj-film DK's is reportedly on hold). Sadly, and astonishingly, the superstar has yet to formally confirm any of the three films! Pathan's absence is understandable given Aditya Chopra's plans to unveil his future projects in a big way in theaters as part of YRF's 50th-anniversary festivities. The plan has been indefinitely postponed because theaters were closed at the time the announcement was planned to take place. However, it's puzzling that Shah Rukh hasn't announced Atlee's sequel or Rajkumar Hirani's project. His own production company, Red Chillies Entertainment, is behind both projects.
As a result, it would be fantastic news to his adoring but anxious fans if Shah Rukh Khan could at least confirm one of these three films. 5 years, or 1825 days, is a long period, and given that SRK is already working on various projects, his fans deserve an official assurance. It will also create a buzz in the industry and trade, which will encourage Shah Rukh even more. In other words, it will be a win-win situation for everyone.
